Leading property lawyers, PainSmith, have teamed up with the Dispute Service, which operates the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS), to run a series of monthly legal seminars aimed at helping landlords and letting agents to navigate industry regulations.
These keenly awaited “Ask a Lawyer” seminars will start in April 2021 and will run every month, thereafter, dealing with several key legal topics of interest in each session.
The one-hour webinars will be hosted by TDS with presentations made by the team at PainSmith:

Every day we deal with landlord and letting agent queries about every aspect of property law and we are well placed to run this new series of “Ask the Lawyer” webinars with TDS. We hope these webinars and blogs, together with our handouts and checklists will be of real value to landlords and lettings agents that use TDS,” said Marveen Smith, the Principal of Pain Smith.
Every webinar will feature a ‘Question and Answer’ session where participants will be able to ask PainSmith presenters any legal questions related to the seminar.
Attendees will also receive a full briefing pack at the end of the session including a slide pack, checklist where appropriate, and set of answers to all of the questions asked at the seminar (including those that were not dealt with in the webinar). Participants will be provided with a full webinar pack and any questions not answered in the session will be dealt with afterwards. Participants will also get the full Q&A briefing after each session.

The first session will be held on 7th April 2021 from 10.30-11.30 and will focus on a Covid-19 update which will look at the new rules regarding possession, eviction, lockdown and access issues.
Alongside the seminar programme, PainSmith will be providing a specially commissioned monthly legal blog that will be made available to TDS customers and, in return, TDS will be providing a blog and other content to PainSmith’s clients to help raise standards in the private rented sector.
The sessions will be advertised on the TDS website, in the TDS newsletters and social media accounts and on the PainSmith website.
