New deposit protection training for landlords and letting agents

The Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) is an advocate of advanced training for landlords and letting agents, believing that further development is not only great for an individual’s career, but also a great method of raising the standards of the private rental sector.

As you may know, TDS supports a great variety of training, such as the NFOPP level 3 Deposit Protection and Management course – the first passing student of which was our colleague Jamie Banner. We also have our own Academy Training courses, that have been very well received.

Following the success of our Academy courses, we have launched a new six-part training programme for letting agents and landlords. This new programme will expand on our existing courses which have predominantly focused on deposit protection and adjudication workshops.

Commenting on the launch, Steve Harriott, Chief Executive of TDS said;

“Customers have really valued our deposit protection training but told us that they want more detail. These courses all tie back to deposit protection, but take a detailed look at key parts of the tenancy lifestyle.

With such a focus on raising standards in the private rented sector, our training is intended to arm the property professional with the insight and very best practice to stay the right side of the law.”

The programme kicks off with the legal issues around setting up a tenancy and the full day course will be led by Solicitor and TDS legal advisor, Hilary Crook.

This course is available to book now, and the first course will start in March. Further dates for the popular TDS Academy Foundation course and adjudication workshops are also now available.
