From 1st June 2019, landlords in England are subject to new rules regarding tenancy deposits and fees under the Tenant Fees Act.

The legislation also limits what landlords and letting agents can charge tenants. Most fees, including administrative costs, are now prohibited. Only certain charges, such as late rent payments or replacing lost keys, are permitted, and these are strictly regulated.
