First Meet the TDS Event Heavily Oversubscribed.

London letting agents filled all the places at the first “Meet the TDS” event. Held in central London last week (Feb 17), it was oversubscribed three times over. The half –day event was the first in a series planned to be held  around the country and aimed at updating members on the changes taking place within the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and to provide a working insight into the independent adjudication process. Said Chief Executive Steve Harriott, who introduced the programme, “We were delighted by the success of this first event. It gave us a great opportunity to update members on the ways we are radically improving  the services we provide at TDS. It also gave the members an in-depth insight into the processes of adjudication, both the thought processes and the methodology.” These were described in an inter-active session by Head of Adjudication, Mike Morgan and Deputy Independent Case Examiner, Maldwyn Jones. They described what evidence was needed for a dispute, how to present it and how independent adjudicators approached cases. TDS aims to extend this programme across the country and also to make contact with landlord and tenants’ groups. Ben Beadle, new Head of Member relations, detailed the communications channels being opened up between the Scheme and the membership. Details of the “Meet the TDS” programme will be sent to members as the programme is rolled out.
