TDS wins Tenancy Deposit Service of the Year award

The Tenancy Deposit Scheme has won its second award in little over a month, winning the title Tenancy Deposit Service of the Year 2012 at the PROPERTYdrum B2B Awards.

PropertyDrum AwardThe inaugural PropertyDrum B2B Awards ceremony recognised “the best suppliers in the industry” and was decided by a mix of votes from property professionals and a panel of industry experts. Over 200 property professionals attended the event, with the awards presented by comedian Dominic Holland, and PROPERTYdrum Managing Director, Grant Leonard.

We were delighted to receive recognition as the best supplier of deposit protection, which is evident in many ways;

  • - Substantially reduced rates for letting agents resulting from our growing financial strength
  • - A new scheme for independent landlords – the lowest priced insurance based protection
  • - A new ‘let-only’ scheme, meaning agents will no longer have to lose discounts for disputes on properties they do not manage.
  • - TDS is the voice of authority in deposit protection and disputes. All of our adjudicators are CIArb accredited and our comprehensive guidance and training are valued resources amongst property professionals.

PropertyDrum Tenancy Deposit Scheme of the YearOf course, an award for the Tenancy Deposit Scheme is not without precedent!

Only last month we achieved the prestigious Government Standard for Customer Service Excellence in recognition of TDS’s remarkable turnaround into a proactive, professional and member focussed organisation. The assessor of Customer Service Excellence listed examples of how we demonstrate best practice, just some of which include our prioritisation of customer service; our transparency, engagement and consultation with our members; and our ethical approach in trying reduce the number of landlord/tenant disputes.

Our informational literature has also been awarded the Clear English Standard by the Plain Language Commission for being clear and accessible to consumers.

What can you expect from TDS as the best provider of deposit protection?

TDS is the only not for profit provider of deposit protection, meaning we work for members not shareholders. All of the money we make goes back in to giving lower prices for letting agents and landlords, and better services for all. Our base rates for agents have reduced by up to 26% this year, and we offer independent landlords the lowest priced insurance based protection, at as little as £15 per tenancy, for the life of the tenancy.

As our awards prove, our competitive prices don’t compromise on the quality of our service. We have set out exactly what you can expect from the Tenancy Deposit Scheme in the TDS Customer Service Standards.
